European Marine Equipment Council

Waterborne TP

WATERBORNE is the European technology Platform (ETP) dealing with the R&D issues of the waterbone (sea and inland) sector.

WATERBORNE was launched in 2005 with the objective to establish a continuous dialogue on R&D between all stakeholders involved in waterborne transport; namely the industry (shipbuilders, equipment manufacturers, oil & gas); the users & service providers: shipping (sea & inland navigation), infrastructure and service providers (dredging); the regulators (classification societies); the research community (public & private universities and research institutes); the Civil society (metalworkers unions, environmental NGO’s); the public authorities (EU Commission, EU Members States) to mobilise financial resources (private/regional/national/EU), to support Education, Training & Social Expectations, to interconnect with other Technology Platforms (ERTRAC, ERRRAC, MANUFUTURE, …).

EMECrid is being highly contributing to the redaction of WATERBORNE since its beginning.

Because of the horizontal coverage of most of the maritime sector through the production and manufacturing of products and services, the marine equipment companies extensively consulted for the identification and definition of the research topics and their priorities.
